Read This If You Want to Give Up
A Few Words of Inspiration
Sometimes we just want to throw in the towel. It’s part of being human. We have a hard time waking up. Getting to work. Focusing on what we need to do. It feels as though we are dragging our heels through thick snow, barely being able to survive.
And that’s normal. We live in a world where we are constantly striving for more, pushing our limits and competing for first place. The reality is that some days you have to slow down to take care of yourself. To be patient with yourself. To tune into your soul and see what’s causing you to feel this way.
And on those days, dial it back. Take some time to reflect. Working on yourself can be the hardest work you can do. Remember, the road to success is not linear, it’s riddled with ups and downs. What you are waiting for could be right around the corner.
“Never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn.” — Harriet Beecher Stow
Pick one small thing you can work on and just get it done. A sense of accomplishment will always make your day better. It doesn’t have to be big, it could be just an hour’s worth of dedication. It’s easy to fall back into the sofa and watch Netflix all day but it usually sinks us deeper into a hole. Just go like a robot, sit in front of your laptop and bang out a few words, an excel spreadsheet, whatever it is that you don’t want to do. I promise you, it works.
Success comes from commitment. Doing things everyday. No matter what you feel. You just do. Like clockwork. It doesn’t have to be perfect, it doesn’t need to be your best work. It will pay off.
“Don’t watch the clock; do what it does. Keep going.” — Sam Levenson
Take a walk, smile at a stranger, help someone carry their groceries. You’ll realize how much you have to offer. You have worked so hard to reach this place so just don’t quit.
I am rooting for you.
